Month: August 2008

What will the Intermountain West say about Sarah Palin?

Is she Mormon?  Dennis fills us in on the first and biggest question.

She sounds like a fundamentalist . . . allow God to be taught as Creator in the public schools . . . homosexuality is a sin . . . life begins at conception . . . etc.

A perfect, conservative Idahoan.

But what do the Mormon Feminist Housewives have to say?  Are they weeping for joy over this historical moment? (mfranti? CrazyWomenCreek?)

What you will find when you step inside a Baptist Chapel (part 2)

Are you ready for a tour of a chapel house in Ammon, Idaho?

Out on the construction dirt mound, north of the church parking lot, I had a stare down with a hawk this morning.

Soon there were five of them flying overhead in the blue sky – powerful, majestic birds.

Jessica painted the overhead picture.  I had asked her to place these words as a theme for 2008:  “Behold your God.”

We received that picture from Frontline Missions.  It is a picture of a previous generation of Russian believers, having communion in the winter woods, away from the eye of persecuting Communist authorities.  The man leading the worship is Georgi Vins.

I just took his picture, today.  That is Ken Stowe – a great example of a biblical deacon.  He is a gracious servant in our church family.

This will be our new fellowship/program/conference area.

A new door and serving window lead right into the kitchen.  Do you see the ceiling sheetrock?  We finished the lid today in this main room.  Thank you to Gene A., Mike S., Mike’s brother – Jeff, Joshua W., Gary G., Dave M., Brad T.,  and Erik T.  (And also, I thank Keith N., Erik T., Dave F., and Gene A. for working with me till 10 tonight hangin’ the rock in a classroom.)
