Ockholm hints on something, today, that Greg said earlier on this blog about Hellenization. . .
In the early church times, the church affected culture more than culture affected the church. He quotes a book, the language of the Bible became the language of Christian thought. The notion that everything was simply Hellenized has become useless. A more apt expression would be the Christianization of Hellen.” (lifted from Aaron’s live blogging this morning).
On a related note, John Mark Reynolds has a forthcoming book that touches on this issue:
When Athens Met Jerusalem: An Introduction to Classical and Christian Thought
Just a polite note: Ockholm is actually spelled Okholm.
Great site.
