Pornography in the LDS I-15 Corridor

Pornography is a troublesome issue in Southeastern Idaho.

Dr. Donald L. Hilton, Jr. is speaking in a Citizens for Decency community conference – Visual Addiction:  Pornography and the Brain – with the Idaho Falls segment at Taylorview Jr. High School Auditorium, 12:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., November 14, 2009.  He and his wife, Jana, currently serve as LDS Family Services PASG (pornography addiction support group) Program Coordinators for San Antonio, Texas for those who struggle with pornography and sexual addiction and their spouses.  They are the parents of five children and two grandchildren.  Dr. Hilton is a renowned neurosurgeon and the author of the LDS book, He Restoreth My Soul

You can pick up a free ticket at www.cfdec.org or any Southeast Idaho Deseret Book Store.

I plan on dropping in to hear what Don has to say.

This is the song I want sung during my “homecoming”

Someday I am going to die.  I don’t know when.  But when there is my funeral in Idaho Falls, sing “Amazing Grace”.  I will need the Henry’s Fork Pipes and Drums.

Tears are on my cheeks as I listen tonight to this song, performed by IL DIVO in this Roman Coliseum concert (Make sure you listen to the song, “Hallelujah (Alelujah)” as well, too).

When my wife and I were standing within the pagan Coliseum years ago, I wish I could have taken in the power of this music.

Jacob J. is right.  This hymn needs to be sung.

Psuedo-Dionysius and Gregory of Nyssa

Did you all see these quotes in Christianity Today (Sept. 2009)?

Pseudo-Dionysius on God -

Trinity!  Higher than any being . . . Where the mysteries of God’s Logos / Lie simple, absolute, and unchangeable / In the brilliant darkness of a hidden silence.

Gregory of Nyssa on God -

How can one arrive at the boundary sought for when there is no boundary?

True satisfaction of the soul’s desire consists in constantly going on with this quest and never ceasing in the ascent to God.
